Fashion empire Glamourville showcases at the Nairobi Elegance affair
In the coming months I would like to see my blog flooded with Kenyan designers, models, make-up artists and photographers. There are a couple of talented people out there I would love to share their work for the world to see. It is my country after all am allowed to be a little selfish. Where are emojis when you need them!
What I have learnt about this industry is that there are humble people and there are not so humble people. I have met a mix of both. And among the humble I have met like designers Lorna Abwonji and Achie Otigo who are receptive and open minded, comes Elsie Achieng the CEO of glamourville.
So when I found out they were taking part in the Nairobi Elegance affair which took place at Railways museum ground on 5th march to empower women through fashion ,I reached out to her and I was surprised by her reception considering we have never met prior.
Glamourville is made up of a team of young, talented designers; it is an empire that deals with everything fashion; from design creations, to models to wardrobe styling.
Their designs incorporate both glamour and sophistication.
Following a new partnership in 2015, I have a feeling Glamourville will be the next big thing. They have managed to successfully pull off two runway shows and are in the plans of opening their own studio in the CDB in the future.
They will also be launching a magazine soon which will be used as a platform to show some their latest designs, keep the fans posted with the latest trends and events as well as showcase upcoming talents.
So I asked Elsie what inspired this collection.
“Well this collection was inspired by the diversity of the crowd that the Nairobi elegance affair normally attracts; Young professionals, trendy youths, young at heart fashionistas and the outgoing individuals. She said
I especially like the fact the collection caters for both men and women.
“We wanted to have a collection that will appeal to all these people.” chiq and stylish is how they describe it.
Here are some of the pieces. You can get in touch with her through: firstname.lastname@example.org
Congrats guys looking forward to more of your designs.
Good day fiends!
