African Fashion and Design Week 2022 Runway

African Fashion and Design week 2022 welcomed designers on their Runway. Each year, African Fashion and Design Week™ draws international stockists, visitors, fashion entrepreneurs, supermodels, industry professionals, and local & international media to preview the looks that will define the continent’s fashion trends.

Talented African designers showcased at the recently concluded show. The Runway Showcase Featured a perfect mix of African-inspired and modern styles.

The following were the designers who showcased at African Fashion and Design Week 2022.


AULGAH NATO is a Multi-Award winning fashion brand, which creates womenswear, bridal, and recently introduced ready-to-wear collections. “Nato is dedicated to elevating the Kenyan fashion industry through their vision of delivering the best for the woman that embraces all aspects of femininity, sophistication, and elegant ease”

Nato has been showcased on both local and international runways. And has bagged numerous award nominations and brought home quite a number of accolades. The brand’s biggest achievement so far is being the first Kenyan Brand to ever be invited and showcased at the Cannes Film Festivals in both 2018 & 2019.

Ade Bakare (UK/Nigeria)

Ade Bakare Couture was established in 1991.  Thereafter, Ade started selling his collection twice a year (Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter). He made great waves with his bridal collection and was selected by Bride magazine as one of London’s most influential designers. Due to his enormous popularity, he has showcased his collections in Morocco, Capetown, Mozambique, London, New York, and Paris where he was given an award.

Ade Bakare’s designs have been described as classic with a touch of modernity using fabrics such as wool, silk, lace, and crèpes but he is currently celebrated for his gazar and organza sweep coats which are both ultra-feminine and luxurious.

Mena Allure (Nigeria/Italy)

Mena Allure was established in 2017 and officially opened on October 1, 2018. The brand handmakes artistic refined clothing cut out of local and foreign-made fabrics with luxury accessories.

Fihankra (Ghana)

Fihankra is a fashion brand with a traditional touch of African wear. It is a both Men and women’s clothing brand.

Sonia Jerry (Nigeria)

Award-winning Fashion designer highly skilled in the creation of clothes, and sales of Fabrics. Experienced Fashion Designer with a demonstrated history of working in the apparel and fashion industry. Skilled in Budgeting, Fashion Illustration, pattern drafting, Branding & Identity, Industrial Sewing, and Presentation Skills.

Afri-Ken by Nana (Ghana)
