Wazal is a creation from “waza” the name of a natural park in the north of Cameroon and the letter “L” stands for Lion, the Cameroonian symbol. powerful.
I love it when designers reach out to have their collections displayed in various platforms. shows determination, drive and hunger to succeed and get recognition for what they do.
“Ova Tété“ collection by Joseph Ayissi is inspired by a Cameroonian slang ‘ova’ which means a bigger and noble person and ‘Tété’ which refers to chic and bourgeois.
AYISSI Joseph-Marie is a French/Cameroonian fashion designer who creates chic street wear for both men and women. Gentlemen you can say goodbye to boring outfits and limited styles to choose from.
Chic to many would immediately translate to women but the word chic in Wazal’s collection is used to describe the amazing and modern appearance of the clothings.
If you have a good taste when it comes to outfits or simply know how to dress really well then chic here is characterized by you.
In 2005 following into the footsteps of his father who was a tailor, Joseph decided to create and launch his own clothing line ‘WAZAL’ which has and continues to be a success.
His first designs launched In 2006, attracted celebrities who actually ended up wearing some of the designs.
“WAZAL COUTURE fashion universe expresses more of casual wear in a constant search of innovations, new styles and creativity.”
Joseph specialized in tuxedo jackets during his professional training in VANESSA RUIZ fashion school in Paris. That explains this Jacket from “Ova tete” collection
In 2013 he was part of the guests of the Ambassador of Cameroon to Paris for the exhibition of the feast of the Cameroonian youth and the Fashion Night Lounge at the Elysee Palace in Paris, where he presented his three concepts among them fly Tété.
He presented Fly “Tete” collection of tuxedo jackets in 2015.
“tété” meaning wealthy (bourgeois) chic.
And the collection did not disappoint. I know am presenting the ova “tete” collection but I have to display this jackets from his fly tete which I cant get over.
The Smoking Jacket Fly or Braguette Tété Black Leather Materials: lambskin leather and red lace,
The Smoking Jacket Fly Tété military camouflage Materials: Military Camouflage and lambskin,

Back to the Ova tete, women are not left behind in this collection which he says is indecent, 10 years in advance or shameless 5 years in advance.
“I prefer being ahead because the fashion world is in constant évolutions.” He says.
Overall you notice that his concepts are Daring, yet classy and unique. His choice of patterns and fabrics, the blends, his cuts and designs are simply impressive and show the African uniqueness.
In this particular collection he chose Noble and quality materials, including first choice wax (African print).
You can order his designs at www.wazalshop.com
Looking forward to more of his creativity.
